Custom Battery Packs & Electromechanical Manufacturing — Grand Rapids, Michigan

BAM Innovations designs and builds custom battery packs — Li-ion, LiFePO4, LiPo, NiMH/NiCd, lithium primary — and custom electromechanical hardware: wire harnesses, control boxes, potted and sealed assemblies, embedded systems, and test fixtures. One unit to production scale, for industrial, marine, unmanned systems (UAS), defense, and specialty applications.

Battery Packs

We build packs across five chemistry families and the common cell formats — 18650, 21700, pouch, prismatic — with BMS integration, protection, charging, and power distribution as the design requires. Construction runs from heat-shrink and hard-case to potted, sealed assemblies. Packs are tested on calibrated equipment, with traceability and conformance records, and UN 38.3 documentation provided or arranged as the build requires.

Packs go into industrial equipment, marine systems, UAS and drone platforms, robotics, defense hardware, and specialty equipment. When a program requires it, we quote packs with documented component source, including allied-nation cell options with country of origin stated in writing; cost-effective options where it doesn't.

How We Work

From a single prototype through pilot and production runs — no artificial minimums, though every project is reviewed for fit. Most quotes are answered within a few business days. For projects that need definition first, we offer a paid Feasibility Review, a Prototype-to-Pilot Sprint, and a Retrofit Assessment for existing equipment.

Common Questions

What's your minimum order?

One. We build single prototypes through pilot and production runs.

What documentation comes with a pack?

Documentation is quoted to the requirement — lot and date-code traceability, Certificate of Conformance, SDS, and UN 38.3 documentation are all available. Tell us what your program needs and we'll quote to it.

Can you support domestic-origin or restricted-source requirements?

Yes — we quote packs with documented component source, including allied-nation cell options with origin in writing. Details on the Sourcing & Documentation page.

Do you build UAS and drone battery packs?

Yes — custom Li-ion and LiPo packs for UAS, drones, and robotics are a core build, from single prototypes through production runs, with documented component source available for programs that require it.

Can you ship lithium batteries?

Yes — shipments are prepared under 49 CFR by hazmat-trained staff.
