GRANDVILLE, MI – March 3, 2025 – BAM Innovations LLC has been awarded a contract from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to supply custom lithium battery packs for NOAA's Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL).
The contract involves manufacturing lithium battery packs for GPS mooring buoys used in NASA's SWOT (Surface Water and Ocean Topography) project. These power systems will help researchers collect oceanographic data for environmental monitoring and research.
"We appreciate the opportunity to support NOAA's research efforts," said Blake Middleton of BAM Innovations. "This project aligns with our focus on providing reliable energy solutions for specialized applications."
The battery packs will be manufactured at BAM Innovations' Michigan facility and will replace existing systems that have reached the end of their service life.
